Africa: FloraHolland starts local flower expedition in Kenya

In order to supply Kenyan flower growers with better logistical service, FloraHolland has set up a local expedition business in Kenya. The new subsidiary, named Q7 Cargo Brokers, is started by the auction in order to get better connections and relationships in with the auctions members in the Eastern-African country. Q7 will take care of the shipments and organize the clock and direct transactions. Finally, they will try to improve information services on logistics processes and optimize the cold chain process.

The activities of Q7 must ensure that the logistical costs of Kenyan members will be kept low. In order to do so, Q7 will buy in cargo capacity in advance and they will also be responsible for all logistical distribution traffic management at Nairobi airport.

According to the auction the flowers from Kenya will further strengthen the international trading platform of the auction because a wider range of products will be available for more customers at the same time. Q7 is a collaboration of FloraHolland and Onyx logistics and operates from Nairobi.
