On Thursday, October 3, 2013 Westland Marketing organized the Super College. An event where Andre Kuipers, Shawn Harris and Ben Verwaayen talked about sustainability, innovation, leadership and entrepreneurship. Over 400 attendees - 92% of whom consisted of college or university level students, for whom the event was intended – voted for one of the three nominees for the Westland Inspiration Award.
This happened after the three Westland top entrepreneurs - Edward Verbakel (VB Group), Eric Moor (Sion) and Jos van Mil (Greenco) - were presented to them. The Westland Inspiration Award 2013 was awarded to Edward Verbakel, receiving it from the hands of astronaut André Kuipers. But not only that. He was also invited by Alderman Arne Weverling to attend the Westland Event, held on October 16, to engage in conversation with King Willem Alexander.
Lars Flinkerbusch, CEO of Westland Marketing, looks back. "We are overwhelmed by the number of interested parties and the many positive reactions. Objective was to inspire, in an informal and friendly atmosphere. We have succeeded."
