relevant updates on employee performance:

Netherlands: Tomato grower Tom Zwinkels positive about Priva FS Performance:

For the past 8 months, innovative Dutch tomato grower HGL Zwinkels has served as the pilot company for the Priva FS Performance management tool. Tom Zwinkels now looks back on an instrument that, “provides the employee with relevant updates on his or her performance, the team leader with a good monitoring tool and the entrepreneur with a complete picture of the state of affairs in his business."

The management tool was presented in early 2013 as the successor to the versatile management information system Fusion and the labour registration program PrivAssist. The expansion of greenhouse companies and their desire for more overview into the business gave rise to the development of FS Performance.

FS Performance Tom Zwinkels

Replacing the supplemental lighting in 2012 prompted Zwinkels to optimize internal procedures. The optimization in turn fuelled the desire to register and monitor activities in both gardens and in the central packing facility. The Priva FS Performance did exactly that, and test results were outstanding. FS Performance not only enables the tracking and tracing of products, but also charts individual productivity on the work floor, recording who does what and when. A large display lists singular performance on a continuous basis.

"Which is very motivating," asserts Zwinkels, "because nobody wants to be on the bottom of the list. The data is linked to a performance bonus, stimulating employees to be at the top of their game.”

A tool to punish those who lie down on the job? Not at all, says Zwinkels. “It’s there to improve performance, not to single people out. Employees are coached, leading to improvement and a stronger bond with the company. I prefer to work with people who keep coming back. The training of new staff is expensive, so we want our labour force to be happy here.”
