More and more young Germans buy organics
More and more young people are consciously shopping for organic products, reports the German website taspo.de. A representative research, commissioned by the German ministry of Food, Agriculture and Consumer Protection (BMELV), shows that the number of people under 30 buying organic products has increased by nine percent compared to last year.
The BMELV also reports that 22 percent of those questioned buy organic products often or exclusively, and 52 percent of those asked do this regularly. According to the research the German consumer mainly eat a lot of organic fruit and vegetables. More buyers of organic foods also indicate that they prefer to buy the products straight from the supplier, for instance in a farm shop.
