Colombia: Tomato prices continue upward trend

In Colombia, tomato supply is running low, resulting in higher price levels.

According to SIPSA, the Colombian price indication system in the agricultural sector, the most representative price increases were registered in La Plaza 21 of Ibague, La 41 of Pereira, Santa Helena, in Cali and the central auctions of Bucaramanga, Centroabastos. In general, prices increased by 30%, 26%, 18% and 17%, compared to last season.

Trade in Ibague recorded lower production in Pitalito, Huila, Tolima and Cajamarca, where a kilo of tomatoes was sold for $ 1,900. In the daily bulletin of the SIPSA, current market prices are being published, for more information see the edition of 9 July 2013.
