Spain: Vegacañada opts for a sturdy variety in new season

VegacaƱada is currently planning the 2013/2014 season. The choice of varieties is determined by current results. Resistance to TYLCV virus and the use of biological protection will also be factored in. The loose tomatoes are expected to equal the vine tomato in terms of production volume this year. This season, the lower production of loose tomatoes led to higher prices. In addition, a lower volume of the pear-shaped tomato is expected. This is due to a decrease in production in the previous season.

VegacaƱada is likely to opt for a sturdy variety, resistant to diseases, of good color and other characteristics of a good quality. This is synonymous with good economic returns and a constant production.
