The Spanish company Ci2T recently introduced a climate control system that allows users to monitor (and manage) the greenhouse climate online. "We could call it an intelligent system," says manager Francisco Larios Sánchez, "because it doesn’t just allow you to control the climate, it also helps you save energy. The greenhouse climate is completely automated. This saves time and improves the quality of the product. The data are stored, making the whole process visible and compact.”
Ci2T describes the system as: "An automated greenhouse system that provides control over climate, irrigation and fertilization. You can track the process over the internet, and manage purchases, personnel, basically your entire company. The user can intervene at any time, in case of engine failure, burglary, frost, irrigation problems, power failure, etc."
With the continuous struggle against Dutch and Israeli multinationals in this sector, Ci2T opens the way to the Spanish market and retains commercial activities in Latin America and North Africa. "Chile is an interesting market for us. Over there we respond to the tomato market, which increasingly resembles the methods employed in Almeria. Colombia also provides an interesting shift towards the greenhouse and flower industry, and undoubtedly Peru and Mexico have high growth potential in agriculture. "
