Morocco exports 14% more tomatoes to EU

The export of Moroccan tomatoes to the European Union has increased with 14% this season, bringing the total volume to 242,429 tons. This according to statistics released by the regional government of Horticulture, Fisheries and Environment. Prices went up as well, 2.5% more compared to the previous season.

Morocco had a contract with the European Union for the overall supply of at least 249,000 tons, according to official data, a target it was unable to reach. In January however, Moroccan supplies exceeded monthly quota with nearly 4,000 tons of tomatoes.
