Henoted that the germination percentage of vegetable had declined much in recentyears, due to a combination of factors. When Hans van Herk, specialist inpropagating vegetable plants at Grodan, dropped by with the request to try outthe new Pro plugs, Lekkerkerker was intrigued. He decided to try them and waspleasantly surprised. The results were positive.
It already starts with the germination. "The germination percentage with the pro plugs is higher. As a result, the loss of seeds and plugs is much lower. Right now this gives us 1.5% more plugs per tray, which saves quite a bit of money. The plants also come out stronger, and more uniform.”
When asked why a customer should choose Grow Group, Lekkerkerker replies that its plants are propagated properly and responsibly. "We value the environment. We minimize chemical insecticides. We deploy natural enemies and use organic plant enhancers like Trianum to give the young plants a good basis. We only do business with reputable companies. I think those elements give us the edge.”
