Average price in first months 1.01 Euro per kilo:

Spain: 2013 tomato export over 410 million Euro

In thefirst three months of 2013, Spain has shipped a total of 410,411,554 Euro worthof tomatoes, with an average price of 1.019 euros per kilo, according tofigures from Hortoinfo derived from FEPEX (Federación Española de asociacionesthe Productores de Frutas y Exportadores, Hortalizas, Flores y Plantas Vivas).

In the EU,a total of 377 million kilos was sold with a value of 381,552,731 Euro, and withan average price of 1.01 Euro per kilo. 25,237 million kilos was exported tocountries outside the EU, amounting to 28,858,823 Euro with an average priceof 1.14 euros per kilo.

Of all EUcountries, Finland paid the most for Spanish tomatoes (€ 1.46 / kg.), followedby Belgium (1.29) and Sweden (1.18). Portugal paid the least with 0.74 Euro per kilo, followed by Estonia (0.80) and Romania, who paid 0.83 Euro per kilo.

The mainimporter was Germany with 82.22 million kilos from January to March (€ 1.17 /kg.), followed by the Netherlands with 57.12 million kilos (€ 1.05 / kg.) Francecame third with 56.29 million kilos, paying 0.90 Euro per kilo.
