Dutch grower Duijvestijn Tomatoes and Technokas build revolutionary ID greenhouse
After eighteen months of developing, Duijvestijn Tomatoes and Technokas have achieved a new greenhouse concept. A greenhouse with a better performance record than the current one: the ID greenhouse. With the construction of the ID greenhouse, the nursery has become even more sustainable: it features energy savings through maximum insulation, the use of low-grade heat, insect screens, dehumidification against infestations of insects and fungi and reduced water use.
In addition, the production even increases so that the environmental impact per unit is further reduced. Actual construction of the greenhouse, with an area of 10,000 square meters, will start in a few months and will be built next to the current greenhouse complex of Duijvestijn Tomatoes in Pijnacker.
Being more sustainable was both the main motivation and the starting point of the new greenhouse. By analysing existing techniques Technokas and Duijvestijn Tomatoes were able to achieve an optimal integration.
In addition to the innovative and entrepreneurial commitment of Duijvestijn Tomatoes and Technokas, the development and construction of the ID greenhouse was made possible through the financial support of EZ and the DIT Fund from Rabobank.
