Hans Derks, FresQ Sales:

"Netherlands: "Confident pepper market resulting in stable pricing"

The pepper season is slow to start. "In the first week supplies were low and the peppers went mainly to European retailers, making for a reasonably balanced market," says sales manager Hans Derks of FresQ Sales. "Last week production picked up at almost the same time Israel was done supplying European markets, so that was a bit of fortunate timing right there."

"Now we see that all markets are active, with the first shipments heading for the US. Additionally, we see that there is peace and confidence in the market, resulting in stable pricing. Quality is currently fine and we’re in good shape to supply various markets in terms of weights and measures.”
