New Syngenta tomato T409273 is named Estatio

The newest small tomato T409273, produced by Syngenta, has been named Estatio. According to Syngenta Crop Advisor Peter Geerts, Estatio a striking newcomer. "Estatio is a breed that can guarantee both high production and high quality. The fruits from the first harvest are nice and round. The beautiful deep red and glossy colour makes for an attractive presentation on shelves and in small packages. The grading is also perfectly homogeneous."

After successful trials last year, the company Naenen A & D planted an area of 2 hectares this year. To date, Danny Naenen is very happy with his choice of the Estatio. "The early production is an advantage. At the moment, and despite the dark and cold spring, we are ahead in production compared to last year. At the advice of Syngenta we maintained a wider head distance to keep the plant sufficiently generative. What strikes us as well, is the labour friendliness of the crop."
