Swiss vegetables get their own webTV channel

The union of Swiss vegetable producers VSGP is launching their own webTV channel. Their site, www.gemuesetv.ch will now feature regular videos based around the theme of Swiss vegetables. The videos will go into season trends and consist of background additions on the production of vegetables, recipes and reports. In the current two videos on the site, the young cook Julie Zumbühl gives information and simple recipes with Swiss radishes and peas. At the end of April, just in time for the asparagus season, a video about asparagus' will show the viewer the best way to peel and cook an asparagus.

The webTV channel will eventually also be available in French. The video about radishes is already available with French subtitles. "With GemüseTV.ch we want to address all vegetable lovers and encourage younger consumers to eat Swiss vegetables," says Moana Werschler of the VSGP. "In our videos we show that cooking with various vegetables is very simple, and what to watch out for when storing and processing vegetables. We also get rid of prejudice about vegetables."
