The French cucumber area this season is 549 HA. This is a decrease of 3% compared to last year. This according to figures of the French ministry of Agriculture. In most of the production regions there is a decrease of the glasshouse production except in the Pays de Loire. However, the production in tunnels in the South Eastern part of the country remained the same or increased. The area of cucumber grown in the open ground has increased by 5% compared to 2012. The expected production of 119,065 for this season is 5% less than in 2012.
