UK: HDC publishes propagation guide for HNS growers

A brand new illustrated Hardy Nursery Stock (HNS) Propagation Guide produced by the Horticultural Development Company (HDC) has been sent out to growers. Written by Andrew Hewson of ADAS with input from growers, researchers and consultants, the guide provides an in depth look at the main propagation methods used within the HNS industry.

The HNS Propagation Guide covers a range of essential topics including: propagation management, environments and systems, techniques and aftercare, as well as nursery case studies from the International Plant Propagators Society (IPPS). Information on research and knowledge transfer requirements, dealing with common plant propagation problems, propagation options for a range of plant species and an extensive reference section are also included.

HNS levy payers are entitled to free copies of the guide, which can be obtained as hard or electronic copies. Non-levy payers may download the guide here or obtain a hard copy from the HDC for a fee.
