The “Marketer of the Year” Award is open to any individual or team who through a marketing campaign, has shown excellence in the marketing of fresh fruit, vegetables or flowers in Australia or New Zealand in the past year.

Nominees can be from any part of the value chain, such as a seed producer marketing their products to growers, a service provider marketing their services to customers, or a retailer marketing its products to consumers – any stakeholder from seed to shelf is eligible.

Nominations will be judged by a panel consisting of two representatives of PMA Australia-New Zealand and two representatives of Produce Plus, with the option to invite other non-aligned experts to help with the judging. The panel will judge against criteria such as:

  • How compelling the campaign is
  • What unique features the campaign has
  • How appropriate the marketing tools are to the product and target audience
  • How well it has been targeted at the particular market segment
  • What evidence there is of the success of the campaign

Self-nominations and nominations by third parties are welcome, and must be received by close of business on Friday 19 April 2013.

Nominations must be completed via an online form, addressing key criteria and providing supporting evidence clearly demonstrating the success of the marketing campaign. Nominees must also detail how they would promote the award to help their business grow and develop over the next year.
