Mexico: New automated procedure for tomato export

The AsociaciĆ³n Mexicana de Horti Cultura Protegida (AMHPAC, the Mexican corporation of protected horticulture) has informed its members / exporters of fresh tomatoes about a new procedure put in operation on 1 March by the General Directorate of Exports of the Secretariat of Economy in Mexico City. In a bid to streamline customs procedures, all information exchange on export will be communicated through a new automated format.

Since March 1, customs no longer accept the old format, as directed by the Department of Economics. In order to meet this new policy, exporters are required to meet the conditions of accession mandated by SAGARPA.

AMHPAC supports exporters in the transition to the new format.
