Flora Holland's potted orchid promotion gets green light

The potted orchid product meeting was held on Wednesday, 30 January. Almost 73% of the turnover of the orchid growers represented voted for the promotion plan of FloraHolland Product Commission (FPC) for Potted Orchids.

In total, a little under 70% of total product sales in 2012 were included in the vote.
Product-specific promotion scheme

This product group kicks off the product-specific promotion. Members approved this procedure in the General Members' Meeting of 6 December 2012. In the product meetings, attendees voted for a plan submitted in advance for the product-specific promotion and the proposed percentage to be deducted to make the implementation possible. If the outcome of the vote is 66.7% or greater, all growers (members and non-members) will have the agreed percentage deducted periodically. This relates to the year of approval and the term indicated in the plan.
Getting started with promotional activities

Forty one members were present at the potted orchid meeting, in addition to other interested parties. Ten members had cast their vote digitally on the product-specific promotion prior to the meeting. During the meeting, the promotional plans were explained. Votes were then cast using voting pads. At the end of the meeting, there was plenty of discussion about the day. The FPC will instigate the promotional activities in the next few weeks.
