Spain: Bom Greenhouses concludes AGROSOL –commissioned project in Spain

In the past few months a lot of hard work was done by Bom Greenhouses in southern Spain. The Dutch company installed a heating system in AGROSOL greenhouses. Spanish AGROSOL is a three-partner company with several offices in Almeria. The firm’s total area is 93 ha. with various crops such as tomatoes, cucumbers and peppers.

The clients: Andreas, Paco en José (in Bom tenue)

In one of the branches, Bom Greenhouses started with the construction of a pipe-rail heating system and several CO 2 installations. The existing greenhouses are modern plastic greenhouses formerly heated through a whole battery of heaters, which generated the necessary warmth but failed to tackle humidity problems.

Bom came in contact with AGROSOL through a mutual business relation, and after the Dutch had made the offer (and laid out the benefits of their specific systems and the use of CO 2 in combination with a heat storage tank) a deal was struck and the work commenced.

By the end of 2012, Bom completed work on 2 divisions of a total of 7.5 ha, and also on a boiler and heat storage tank of approximately 3,000 m3 which is already suitable for further expansion in 2013. The tomato plants in greenhouses with the installed pipe rail heating and CO 2 are reportedly doing great. Soon, the crops will see distribution to Holland and the UK.
