Cucumbers
The first Dutch cucumbers are expected within ten days at trader NJ Witkamp/EMT. The crops are currently cultivated on about 7.5 acres and Erik van Gentevoort expects the first harvest of the season this week.
About marketing the cucumbers he’s not worried, even though supermarkets generally wait until the volume is larger. "The quality and taste of Dutch cucumbers is always good. And retailers like the fact that another domestic product is on the market. They are tired of the Spanish produce."
