Greenhouse builders can hardly meet the demand. Growers are increasing their investments and suppliers launch one novelty after another. This became evident after the Horticontact in Gorinchem.

A new Svensson screen, a new clipping system at Agrifast, a new machine for Verhagen Leiden, a new climate computer at Hotraco, new LED lighting at Q-Westland, new packaging at Solidus. The Tuinbouwrelatiedagen (Horticulture Relation Days) used to have the image of a home fair, where there is a lot of talk but nothing much happens that is new, but this year the HortiContact was filled with novelties in Gorinchem.
It is another boost for the Dutch horticulture sector. It was clear that business was going well for growers, but by introducing their new products in the Netherlands, suppliers show they also see the Dutch market as very relevant.
The fact that growers are doing well can be clearly seen at the event. Because nurseries have better investment possibilities, the mood is significantly better. Entrepreneurs do not shy away from a visit to greenhouse builders, brokers, screen suppliers and other suppliers: the money is back and a visit to the event is not only just for looking anymore - but also buying! The real possibility of investment makes a visit to the event obviously much more interesting for growers.
Remarkable was the international presence at the event, particularly on Wednesday. The organisation has tried to achieve this by international promotion efforts and by continuing the Greenhouse Tour.
