Many of the European greenhouse manufacturers and turnkey project builders present at the show, informed us that they have experienced hardly any business in the Turkish industry since Russia banned imports of Turkish produce. The relations between the two countries may have improved over the past few months, yet Turkish growers and investors refrain from investing in new high tech greenhouse developments.

This was also reflected on the trade show floor. It is once again confirmed that Turkey remains a price market in which growers in most cases prefer price over quality and therefore provide room for cheaper technology first. Yet, some of the exhibitors in the higher end product categories were pleased with the international traffic at the show. The Growtech has increasingly become a springboard for business development in Turkey's surrounding countries, the Middle East and Asia.
