According to the website Faillissementsdossier.nl, the large Dutch rose grower Zuurbier & Co is an a process of suspending their outstanding payments. Zuurbier is a large grower of roses in Holland with a modern greenhouse of 13 hectares. The greenhouse is equiped with elatest technology, supplemental lighting and a advanced sorting and packing facility. In Holland, 85 people work at their location in Heerhugowaard.
Since 2001, Zuurbier & Co is also growing roses in Kenya at Bilashaka Flowers Ltd. This 29 hectare greenhouse farm is a wholly owned subsidiary of Zuurbier & Co that employs 500 workers.
