McDonald's offers cucumbers cut into sticks in Happy Meal

McDonald's is continuing to diversify its vegetable menu for children. If the fast food chain already offers tomatoes or carrots instead of fries in their Happy Meal, it will now be possible, from May 8, to choose cucumbers cut into sticks. This option will be available for five months.

Vegetables have been grown in France, particularly in the regions of Occitania and Provence. The cucumbers will be placed in a small 60 g bag to make their consumption more convenient during their peak season. More than 250 tons of cucumbers will supply the French restaurants.

"The arrival of P'tits cucumbers in the Happy Meal is fully in line with our approach to diversifying the children's offer. By offering chewable fruit bags since 2003, McDonald's France made an early commitment to promote fruit to children," says Delphine Smagghe, senior vice president of purchasing, quality and sustainable development at McDonald's France.
