Supporting Gulf Coast horticulture

Ridder Group and Al Busath sign strategic partnership

The challenging water shortages, hot climate conditions and ever-growing demand for local food production have resulted in the Middle-East becoming a key region for the development of protected horticulture. In order to optimally support these developments with smart adaptive greenhouse technology, a new strategic dealer partnership has been forged between the Ridder Group and Al Busath.

An industry in transition
With more than 35 years of experience in the local agriculture and horticulture sectors, Al Busath is an expert total growing solutions provider for the Arabian Peninsula. Meeting the growing demand for greenhouse horticulture in this region, Al Busath has been supporting many of its customers in transitioning from open field and shade house production to protected cropping.

As a result of these developments, the company is increasingly working with Ridder technology such as climate controls, water solutions, screens and drive systems. A strategic partnership between Al Busath and the Ridder Group will strengthen this cooperation and provide the market with even better service and support.

Continuous support
“As we get involved in more and more projects in the Middle-East, we believe it is essential to provide our customers and end users with continuous support and full service in Arabic”, said Regnier ten Haaf, Global Sales Manager at Ridder. “We want to transfer our technical know-how and train people to get the most out of our solutions. In Al Busath we have found a strong partner with a lot of knowledge and experience that will help us reach these goals. What’s more, Al Busath is the right partner to expand our business in other nearby markets as well.”

Synergy within Ridder Group
Growing crops in a controlled environment using smart cultivation technology will enable Arab growers to produce a better quality product more efficiently. Studies on protected agriculture in the Middle-East have found that, compared with open field agriculture, water savings of up to 99% can be achieved in a greenhouse with recirculation technology. “The Ridder Group offers a complete range of smart, adaptive solutions that address the potential of our industry with best fit technology”, Mohammad Khader Hussein, CEO of Al Busath said. “Whether our clients are large high-tech state-of-the-art glass greenhouse projects or small poly family farms, thanks to the adaptive products and synergy within the Ridder Group, we can offer the right solution and knowledge to help every grower with their challenges.”
