Marc De Nale, Demain la Terre:

"France: "We want to communicate our message directly to the consumer"

Demain la Terre is an organization of fruit and vegetable producers that helps growers to work the land in an economically, socially and environmentally sustainable way. This year the organisation wants to focus even more on new ways to pass their message directly to the consumer. Marc De Nale, CEO: “We will do this at supermarkets, wholesale markets and at the greengrocer by emphasizing the brand, in addition to already placing our label on all our products. We are also going to use more social networks and digitals to communicate.” 

Secondly, the organisation will focus on the standards for primary manufacturing products like puree, fruit juices and coulis. “We are working on a frame of reference of these products and will present this in two weeks at the Salon International de l’Agriculture de Paris.”

Demain la Terre, that can be translated as “Tomorrow for the Planet”, was established in 2004 and started out as a partnership between five companies. Currently twelve companies have joined the unit. Together they represent 150 growers and the certified production is 1,2% of the total French fruit and vegetable production, which is equal to a volume of 150.000 tons.

Marc : “When we started Demain la Terre we set up requirements that producers had to meet to receive our label. We keep improving and developing these requirements and encourage our growers to keep improving their ways of working. We want to create a reference system that goes beyond the regulations.”



By 2020 Demain la Terre hopes to have 20 participating companies. 

From February 24th until March 4th 2018, Demain la Terre can be found the Salon International de l’Agriculture de Paris in hall 4, B 027.
