100 million euro until 2022

Spain: Andalusia presents a Renovation Plan for greenhouses

The president of the Board of Andalusia, Susana Diaz, announced the launch of three lines of incentives in February to modernize greenhouses and provide coverage for the damage suffered in the province of Almeria by the tornado on January 6. Diaz highlighted the creation of a Renovation Plan, endowed with 100 million euro and five-year execution term, for the modernization of traditional greenhouses, parral greenhouses, and small sized greenhouses.

"Essentially, we are thinking about those infrastructures that are 20 years old and that are usually the most vulnerable when there are climatic adversities," she said. In addition to this program, she said, there will be another aid to greenhouses that have only suffered minor damages and another for the modernization of farms with serious damage. The latter, will involve an amount of 10 million and it will allow the beneficiaries to incorporate to their facilities a more productive design that is resistant to weather damage and that can, obviously, be insured.
