The double screen trend continues

Double screening ... It’s so prevalent nowadays. But actually that has not been the case for long. The developments of Next Generation Growing method have in any case contributed to this. After all, energy-efficient cultivation is a primary objective here. Peter Rense, Holland Scherming: "But also in areas where cultivation is not yet done according to the principles of NGG, double screening plays a role. Wherever energy prices are on the rise, interest in an extra energy screen increases."

Holland Scherming sees particularly a large demand for double screens in the Netherlands, Belgium, Russia, CIS countries and Canada. Actually, for places with a continental climate, this is an interesting option. But also in lit cultivation, the choice for a second (to limit light emission) screen is quickly made.

Pascal den Heijer, Holland Scherming:

Pascal den Heijer joined Holland Scherming in May this year as Export Manager. He has been involved in the international greenhouse horticulture sector for many years and has been able to follow the increasing interest for double screening from the start. Pascal: "Growing up in the Westland means horticulture becomes second nature. It is an interesting sector that is always on the move. The techniques are continuously getting better and more advanced. There is a lot of interest in Dutch greenhouse horticulture from abroad. I'm glad that I’m in a position that enables me to contribute to this development."
