FARM MANAGER, PERTH, WESTERN AUSTRALIA

United Exports is a completely integrated international fruit producer and exporter with a particular focus on new blueberry varieties. Our leading blueberry brand, OZblu, is helping grow the category and set new standards across the globe.

The ideal candidate will be a manager with a proven track record and a progressive attitude towards creating and maintaining world-class farming standards and procedures. He or she will be a self-starter who can run a professional farm as an entrepreneur, as well as work as part of the business team.

This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate horticulturalist to build and manage a developing blueberry farm in Western Australia. Located a short 40 minutes north of stunning Perth, with the enjoyment of working with the world’s most exciting berry genetics.

Making it happen:
The farm manager will:
  • Manage and achieve production targets, as agreed upon, within budget
  • Ensure ongoing control of all processes, recording of progress and monitoring of costs
  • Input into the production estimates provided
  • Ensure accurate fertigation application
  • Ensure the production unit and assets are maintained and safe
  • Implement and maintain environmental and sustainability management plans and targets
  • Ensure compliance with all audit and legislative requirements
  • Direct the Team to meet quality and production goals

Qualifications & Experience:
  • A relevant tertiary degree in agriculture and/or horticulture
  • 8–10 years’ relevant farm production experience
  • Experience with compliance, e.g. HARPS & GlobaG.A.P., is an advantage

Knowledge:
  • Horticultural practices and a technical understanding of fruit production functions
  • Previous experience in substrate horticultural production highly regarded


Skills:
  • Strong computer literacy: MS Office (Word, Excel and Outlook)
  • Strong planning and coordination skills
  • Strong people management skills
  • Good verbal communication skills
  • Relationship building and interpersonal skills

Package:
  • An attractive renumeration package will be negotiated to reflect skills and experience
