About the role
Due to ongoing growth, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic and driven industry professional to join the business as a Category Manager in our Exports team.  Located in Homebush, this role is a key part of the Fresh Produce Group Exports team and as such is expected to be involved in multi facets of the organisation.  The successful candidate is expected to have priority focus on the exported fruit categories, with tasks including:
  • Coordinate the day to day implementation and management of customer accounts and programs to ensure accurate and timely communication with the customer
  • Manage an effective grower/producer supply base
  • Negotiating and purchasing product
  • Maintaining up to date knowledge of stock volumes, pricing, quality, international regulations and customer information for each of the categories/customers
  • Engaging with the supply chain (including the packing sheds, transport and logistics team) to ensure efforts are aligned to support your supply and/or customers, minimise additional costs and achieves our customer’s quality standards
  • Ensuring agreed service levels are in line with the customer’s expectations
  • Contribution to the development of Category and Account Plans through active participation in Team strategy meetings and budgeting processes

About you
As this is a Category Manager position, demonstrably strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential, as is the ability to influence others. In addition, you must also have:
  • At least 5 - 7 years fresh produce or FMCG sales with account management experience
  • Experience working with large supermarket chains
  • An ability to work cross-functionally within the business
  • Business acumen particularly relating to profitability, stock control and sales forecasting
  • Proficient computer skills
  • Tertiary qualification in Business/Commerce/Marketing highly regarded.
