UK: Duke of Kent visits Thanet Earth's tomato greenhouse

It’s not every week a phone call comes to request that royalty might take a look around your workplace, but our team were only too pleased to oblige when HRH The Duke of Kent made a recent visit to Thanet.

Accompanied by the Lord Lieutenant of Kent an other members of his office, The Duke was shown around the new tomato greenhouse at Thanet Earth by Chris Mack (executive chairman of Fresca Group) and Gert van Straalen (managing director of Kaaij UK).

The party had plenty of time to ask questions and learn about the ultra-modern and environmentally-friendly methods of growing at Thanet Earth, with The Duke then visiting the new education room in the greenhouse to meet key people from the site.

The team put on a beautiful display that showcased the stunning tomatoes, peppers and cucumbers grown at Thanet Earth, with the visitors also commenting on how much work has been undertaken to build strong links with schools and the wider Kent community.
