Netherlands: Kick-off sounding board group MPS-Fruit & Vegetables

Consumers expect fruit and vegetables, herbs and edible flowers and plants to be healthy and safe. An expectation that is justified and has to be lived up to by the growers. The label MPS-Fruit & Vegetables offers the guarantee that growers and their market need. Daily registration, an especially developed Reliability Index and 24/7 online monitoring ensure optimal reliability, safety and transparency.

Therefore, it goes without saying that the technical framework is solid as a rock. Now the time is right to strengthen the brand awareness. Growers and MPS join forces on this matter. Therefore, a special sounding board group was formed, which will (amongst other things) work out plans to enlarge the brand awareness, promotional activities etc. On 23 May last the kick-off meeting of the sounding board group took place.

Members sounding board group (from left to right).: G. Vreugdenhil (MPS), P. Ruijgrok (MPS, occasionally present in the group), J. Goossens (Gova), E. Buysman (Buysman Kruiden), J. Vreugdenhil (Pl.kw. Vreugdenhil), D. Barendse (Quality Care)

Sounding board group

The sounding board group will, for the time being, consist of 4 certified growers who will act as “sparring partners” for MPS with regard to a number of topics. A few of the topics are: joint promotional activities, content and market conformity of the label, technical matters as fine-tuning of the Reliability Index etc. The following Dutch growers are represented in the sounding board group:
  • Plantenkwekerij Vreugdenhil (potplanten, groenteplanten)
  • Gova BV (keukenlaurier)
  • Buysman Kruiden (verse kruiden)
  • Quality Care (paprika’s)
Naturally the input from the traders is also indispensable. Therefore MPS strives to have a representative of the traders in the sounding board group as well. In the forthcoming weeks this will be arranged.
