Trade show kicks off next week

Doubling the size of the HortEx Vietnam 2019

The HortEx Vietnam was organised for the first time last year, and the show was rated remarkably highly by both exhibitors and visitors. The result is shown this year: the HortEx Vietnam is to double in size.

Being one of the largest international trade exhibitions for the horticulture and floriculture sector in Southeast Asia, the HortEx Vietnam 2019 is to open its doors next week from 13 March to 15 March 2019 at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center (SECC) in Ho Chi Minh City. The annual Exhibition & Conference for Horticultural and Floricultural Production and Processing Technology in Vietnam is organized by Nova Exhibitions B.V. (The Netherlands) and Minh Vi Exhibition & Advertisement Services Co., Ltd (VEAS – Vietnam).

Doubled in size compared to the last edition
With a scale of 4,500 sqm and some 200 exhibitors from 28 countries, HortEx Vietnam 2019 is expected to welcome more than 6,000 visitors and is expected to become one of the biggest destinations for both local and international enterprises in the horticulture and floriculture sector to search for new business and investment opportunities.

“Besides the growing interest among companies from Southeast Asia, the show this year also gets more and more interest from the rest of the world. This strong increase is in line with our expectations and underlines the interest in the growing horticulture and floriculture sector in Vietnam and neighboring countries”, the organizer stated.

Not only does HortEx Vietnam 2019 receive good support from Vietnam and (neighboring) countries in Asia such as Thailand, China, Taiwan, Myanmar, Malaysia, Japan, India, South Korea, Singapore and Laos, the exhibition also attracts many new participants from the following countries: Australia, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Ecuador, Estonia, France, Germany, Israel, Italy, Latvia, Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, Turkey, USA and New Zealand, bringing the total of participating countries to 28.

With regards to the products displayed, the showcase of high-end brands in horticultural and floricultural production and processing technologies promises to satisfy visitors’ expectations. In particular, there is a wide range of state-of-the-art technologies and solutions for growing and post harvest handling and processing of fruits, flowers & vegetables to be introduced throughout the three-day exhibition this year.

Embassy
In this year’s second edition, HortEx Vietnam has also actively collaborated with numerous domestic agencies and foreign embassies, including the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of Vietnam; the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Vietnam; Vietnam Fruit & Vegetable Association; Dalat Flower Association; Vietnam Seed Trade Association, and other reliable sector organizations to support and promote activities for the exhibition and the conference. 

Export Forum Program
In terms of HortEx’s newest highlights for 2019, the Export Forum Program creates a great networking and knowledge exchanging platform for those interested in exporting activities to foreign markets by highlighting the meetings among global leading export forums, namely Vietnam – ASEAN, China, Singapore, the Netherlands, Germany, etc. It especially facilitates the chance to directly match businesses with 40 Chinese & Singapore Buyers, various ASEAN importers from Cambodia, Myanmar and Thailand, helping local enterprises to actively promote strengths and brand image of their products and simultaneously forge business linkages with international partners.

Remarkably, speakers invited to the Export Forum Program all are leaders, leading experts, honored representatives from the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, Ministry of Industry and Trade, Vietnam Fruit Vegetable Association, Agri-Food & Veterinary Authority of Singapore, German Industry and Commerce Vietnam, etc, promising to provide visitors a comprehensive panorama of the Vietnamese horticultural & floricultural market, along with a source of reliable and updated information on export trends and requirements when penetrating into foreign markets.

A significant milestone for the Vietnamese vegetables and fruits industry has been witnessed in the 2018 year when its export turnover reached a record high of USD 3.809 billion, up 8.8% compared to 2017, calculated from the General Customs Department. Based on this prospective market, HortEx Vietnam 2019 is believed to create one of the most comprehensive B2B platforms for the horticulture and floriculture sector in Vietnam to converge high quality vegetable, flower and fruit products and advanced machinery and equipment under one roof, thereby providing various trade opportunities for local and international enterprises.
