Turkey: A new strawberry greenhouse is set up in Kozakli, Nevsehir

A young woman entrepreneur in Nevsehir, a city located in central Turkey, has set up a strawberry greenhouse in Kozakli town which is known for its thermal resorts. Receiving government funds provided to young entrepreneurs, Ebru Yildirim started growing organic strawberries in her greenhouse and is already selling it to local buyers whilst utilizing social media to reach more buyers.

The grower has year-round production and has so far no problems in finding buyers for her produce and recommends everyone to start greenhouse production in the area. Hot water from thermal resources are used in the greenhouse which provides significant cost savings and the grower also started experimenting with different produce such as green pepper.

The grower noted the high demand in the market and added that she could not keep up with the demand at this point.
