Moscow region reaches 100% self-sufficiency with tomatoes and cucumbers

This year Moscow region has reached 100% self-sufficiency with tomatoes and cucumbers. Only four years ago the demand was met by 5-6%, reported the Minister of Agriculture and Food of Moscow region, Mr. Andrey Razin.

“This year we have reached the 100% level. It is a great victory compared to the low data of four year ago. It is the first time such level has been reached”, noted Mr. Razin.

The Minister added that such success is due to the construction of the new greenhouse complexes.

“This year we are going to construct not less that 50-60 ha of new contemporary greenhouses”, noted Mr. Razin. He also added that a part of them are already being launched.
