Urban-gro hires Larry Dodson as Chief Technology Officer

Urban-gro, a cultivation systems integrator and agricultural technology company for commercial cannabis cultivators around the world, announces the appointment of Larry Dodson to the role of Chief Technology Officer.

With a track record of leading technology teams in high-tech and start-up environments, Larry will oversee urban-gro’s technology initiatives under the company’s Soleil Technology brand (www.soleiltech.ag). The Soleil Technology platform offers cultivators insight and control over facility microclimates using high-density sensors. Having served in executive positions within cultivation and technology firms, as well as experience working in start-up environments, Dodson will play an integral role in global deployments of urban-gro systems and technology in both the cannabis and horticulture vertical industries.

“Larry brings a high level of technology acumen to continue the growth of our company in the global marketplace for automated cultivation systems and technology,” said Brad Nattrass, CEO and co-founder of urban-gro. “Larry’s knowledge of broader horticulture from a true Ag Tech perspective enables urban-gro to deliver market-leading technology solutions that improve crop yields, drive down overall production costs, and promote repeatable precision cultivation.”

Prior to urban-gro, Larry served as the Vice President of Lighting Controls for Fluence Bioengineering, the technological and market leader and manufacturer of commercial horticulture LED lights. He also brings professional experience from the Advanced Technology and Corporate Development group at HP/Compaq, as well as the Engineering & Reliability Test & Deployment group at Chrysler.

"Having worked closely with urban-gro and its proprietary Soleil Technology over the past year, I understand the significant value that urban-gro’s ‘sense and control’ technology will bring to our horticulture customers. My experience in technology development and delivery in highly regulated markets will be critical to further urban-gro’s goal of being the global technology solutions leader in Ag Tech horticulture," said Larry Dodson, Chief Technology Officer.

urban-gro experts will be participating at some of the biggest events in the cannabis industry, including the upcoming NCIA California Cannabis Business Conference in Anaheim on October 22-23, 2018 (Booth #211) and the Marijuana Business Conference in Las Vegas on November 14-16, 2018 (Booth #3419).
