Russia: 8 ha greenhouse complex to be built in Stavropol by 2020

The SovAgroTech group of companies are going to build a greenhouse complex worth 17.3 million euros in the Lermontov town of the Stavropol region (Russia). The greenhouses are planned to be constructed by the end of 2020, reported the head of the group of companies, Mr. Yuriy Kurchenko.

“It is our first project in the Stavropol region; the project is ready for realization. The plan is to build two greenhouses, 4 ha each, the amount of investments will comprise 17.3 million euros, the anticipated launch date is the end of 2020”, mentioned Mr. Kurchenko in his speech at the international AgroYoug forum in Stavropol.

The project will be carried out in two stages. Tomatoes and lettuce production will amount to 600 tons a year per hectare, after full production capacity is achieved. The project will allow for the creation of 150 jobs. According to the regional ministry of agriculture, the overall greenhouse acreage in the region at the moment amounts to 180 ha.
