3rd China-ASEAN Agricultural Cooperation Forum held in Nanning

On September 13, the 3rd China-ASEAN Agricultural Cooperation Forum, co-organized by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs and the People’s Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, was held in Nanning, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. ASEAN countries including Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, the Philippines and Vietnam, international organizations such as the ASEAN Secretariat, Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), and the World Food Program (WFP) as well as the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, provincial (autonomous region’s) agricultural departments and representatives from relevant enterprises attended the forum.

Focusing on the theme of “sharing experience of agricultural development, discussing rural development strategy and building a regional development community”, delegates from different countries, who attended the forum, shared their experience and results in agricultural and rural development, discussed suggestions on agricultural cooperation among China and ASEAN countries, and reported the domestic examination and approval progress of the Memorandum of Understanding on Food and Agricultural Cooperation Among China and ASEAN Countries. They also held a discussion on the initiative for 2019 “China-ASEAN Rural Exchange Year”.
