China: FloraScape officialy opens new state-of-art greenhouse

Chinese flowergrower FloraScape opened their newest research and development department in the last week of January. The newest division is called Beijing FloraScape Ltd. and is established at the Beijing Flowerport. The new greenhouse measures 2.5 hectare and features the latest high end techniques for climate and energy control.

The greenhouse was built by a joint-venture cooperation between Dutch greenhouse manufacturer Bom Group and Chinese company Shanghai Dushi Green Engineering. Dushi Green is one of the leading greenhouse building company's in China and works closely together with Bom Group to market the latest glazing systems , greenhouse constructions and shading installations in China.

The first contact between Bom Group, Dushi Green and FloraScape was made in September 2010. The project consisted approx 1.2 ha Venlo greenhouse with a glass deck. Next to that, their was also a 1 ha greenhouse in the pipeline which had to be carried out with a double layered F-Clean (EFTE) deck. For this material, a whole new greenhouse concept had to be developed. This totally new F-Clean greenhouse concept was developed completely by Bomb Group independently in consultation with Japanese company AGC Green-Tech.

Double layered F-Clean Greenhouse

The inner layer of the double layered F-Clean greenhouse is made of diffuse material. A continuous inflation system is providing a permanent insulation layer between the two panels.

The powder-coated base of the greenhouse is 12.80 m, with 2 caps of 6.40 m wide. This greenhouse - which is also equipped with an outdoor screen - includes aluminum gutters and steel, galvanized powder coated roof bars. The deck has continuous vents on both sides and the exhibition space is equipped with a Max-Air system.

The glass complex (1.2 ha) is a Venlo greenhouse equipped with a 12.80m construction (3 caps of 4.27 m), height 6.00 m and 5.00 m section size. Also this greenhouse is equipped with a screen installation outside. The greenhouse required special aluminum gutters that are suitable for the use of a greenhouse deck cleaner.

The deck is equipped with Bom Group's Ecotec glazing system, which was produced under license by Shanghai Dushi Green. The ventilation sections are equipped with Bom's Internetting insect netting system. Both greenhouses are mounted with dual screen systems that are fitted with the ABS system. The outer greenhouse gables are made of thermopane insulated glass (17 mm), because the local temperature in the winter can be very low in Beijing.

Florascape is gonna use renewable energy for the heating of their greenhouse. Like for all the other growers on Beijing Flowerport, a geothermal well will provide the greenhouse with the needed heat.

Aside from the project for FloraScape, at this time another greenhouse is being build by Shanghai Dushi Green. This greenhouse is being realized at Chongming Island, nearby Shanghai. The greenhouse is going the be utilized as a demonstration facility to show and test all the latest greenhouse techniques. In the greenhouse several crops will be cultivated, like tomatoes and strawberries. The greenhouse is planned to be finished medio 2013
