FloraHolland rules for CC containers in peak period
This prompted FloraHolland to produce a set of rules regarding issuing and transfers, to take effect in 2014, to ensure that every customer is treated as fairly as possible when a shortage threatens.
FloraHolland continuously monitors the national stock of CC containers and plates at its locations, including the Rhein-Maas auction. The level of the stocks is categorised into 3 classes: normal, critical and shortage. With a "normal" national stock, there are no restrictions on issuing CC containers and plates. Once the stock becomes "critical" or "shortage", the rules regarding issuing described below come into effect, but there must be a physical stock present at the locations for the system to work.
"Critical" national stock: they will only be issued to customers with a credit balance up to the maximum of that credit (for example: a grower has a credit of 100 CCs but asks for 200 CCs, and is given only 100 CCs)
"Shortage" national stock: the same procedure as for critical, but the grower is given only 50% of the credit (for example: a grower has a credit of 100 CCs but asks for 200 CCs, and is given only 50 CCs)
