China: Greenhouse vegetables in the Gobi Desert

In the past few years, the Animal Husbandry and Agriculture Science and Technology Park in Subei County has been developing and improving their technology according to industry needs and market demand. Since 2010, Subei County has invested around 42.4 million yuan in the outskirts of Dangchengwan county in the town of Xitan.

The investment covers an area of about 3,000 acres and has set high standards in greenhouse planting and animal husbandry facilities. The residents of Subei have now found income in the Gobi desert through this modern agricultural park. Reports show that 10 vegetable greenhouses have a net profit of around 100,000 yuan per year.
