Coated diffuse double glazing for energy saving greenhouse cultivation

The Greenportkas II concept could very well be the next step in energy saving in greenhouse cultivation, for instance by making use of coated diffuse double glazing. This new greenhouse concept, specially designed for growing tomatoes, is extensively evaluated prior to construction.

The consequences of combinations of certain innovations have been ascertained in an iterative process with Kaspro and discussed with the operator. This has led to a much better thought-out system. The construction of this concept, however, could not continue. Subsequently, the development of another greenhouse concept with a similar innovation (the ID greenhouse) was supported by the same iterative process. This has contributed to the final design of the greenhouse and the development of a monitoring plan.
