New Dutch Agricultural Counsellor, Arie Veldhuizen was introduced in Bulgaria

The New Dutch Agricultural Counsellor, Arie Veldhuizen went to his first visit to Bulgaria. He was introduced to the local agricultural network at a reception in the residence of the Netherlands Ambassador, Mrs Bea ten Tusscher.



Among the official guests were representatives of agriculture and business, the banking sector, the state administration and Sofia Municipality.

Arie Veldhuizen will replace Emar Gemmeke, who has been in charge of agriculture at the Dutch embassy for three years. Mr. Veldhuizen said that among his priorities in working with the agriculture sector in Bulgaria will be the circular economy, sustainable farming practices and sustainable value chain, water for agriculture, as well as the access to financing for farmers.

During the event, Mr Ventsislav Varbanov, chairman of the Bulgarian Association of Agricultural Producers presented a welcoming address to Mr. Veldhuizen and a diploma for a real contribution to the developing of the friendly relations between the two countries to H.E. Bea ten Tusscher. For her part, Ms. Bea Tin Tusher assured her guests that the relationships between the two countries in the agriculture and food has great potential.
