"Based on the results of the cargo inspection by the State Inspector of the Rosselkhoznadzor Administration, it was established that 204 boxes with tomatoes are in the car. 170 of them had no markings, and on one of the boxes there was a marking according to which the country of origin of the product is Ukraine.”
The phytosanitary certificate was issued for quarantined products weighing 2.1 tons. In fact, the weight of the supplied tomatoes was 4.1 tons.
Rosselkhoznadzor points out a violation of the laws of the Russian Federation and the Eurasian Economic Union, and draws attention to the lack of proper control by the State Inspectorate for Seed Production, Quarantine and Plant Protection of the Republic of Belarus when issuing phytosanitary certificates.
Fruitnews.ru reported that as a result of the incident, the 4.1 tons of tomatoes were destroyed.
