Can you guess who's in the suit, climbing up the 28 floors of the Melbourne Crown Towers in a 20 kg suit? It's Genesis Horticultural Solutions Director, Tony Bundock. He swapped his horticulture boots for a set of firefighter gear at the weekend when he and 650 other career and volunteer firefighters took part in the Melbourne Firefighter Stairclimb challenge. The event aims to raise awareness and funding to fight Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.
Tony crosses the finish line
The event requires each competitor to wear full firefighting gear and breathing apparatus and climb 28 floors of the Melbourne Crown Towers building. The kit wears a hefty 20 kgs.
‘It’s really hard work but it’s all in a good cause’ said Tony. ‘This is an annual event that many of us who are volunteer firefighters get behind as PTSD is an issue that can affect any emergency services worker.’

To date the event has raised $510,000 - a great effort by everyone!
