Duson Police celebrate Labor Day with tomato delivery

The Duson Police Department was out and about this Labor Day delivering fresh grown tomatoes to area residents.

The department shared photos of the deliveries to residents on their Facebook page. The tomatoes were grown in the police department’s community garden. Officers Brett Sturm, Calvin Francis, Lt. James Hodges and Police Chief Kip Judice all participated in the special deliveries.

About 10 tomato plants were planted earlier this year by officers and purchased and cared for by officers after their shifts. The garden is located outside the Duson Police station.
