"“Larger widths possible with new greenhouse design"

More volume, increased light, a higher load support and a better resistance for enhanced performance. In a nutshell, that's what the new Greenpush Plastic multispan greenhouses provide. "The new design of the tubes and posts makes the difference", Corenthin (Felix) Chassouant of CMF Groupe Asia-Pacific explains.

Boosting up the crop - that's what is most important to the team of CMF Groupe. And that's exactly what they offer with their new GreenPush greenhouse, shown on the GreenTech exhibition in Amsterdam last June and recently at the HortiAsia exhibition in Bangkok, Thailand.

Ovalized tube
"An important feature of the GreenPush design is our ovalized tube", Corenthin (Felix) Chassouant shows. He's been working with CMF Groupe for several years currently based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The company offers the benefits and training of each design for specific crops and specific circumstances.

"We expect a lot of the new tube, since it's applicable broadly. Whereas the tubes before have not been bigger than 90x50mm, we can offer our TO105 tube. This one goes up to 105x60 mm, meaning the loading potential grows and therefore the posts' resistance as well." In addition, the range consist of 120x60 mm posts and new, stronger attachments and brackets. "The steel is being used optimally and the assembly can be done quicker."

"It all comes down to one thing: increasing the resistance of the basic steel structure. The permitted load compared to market references with the same geometry is 60% higher. Therefore applicable horizontal cross loads at an equivalent strain are much higher, giving us the possibility to create larger widths."

The larger widths & higher volume gives a better humidity and temperature control within the greenhouse, whereas the amount of shadow is significantly lower thanks to the larger distance between posts. "This goes up to a 10% reduction in shadows, our research shows." Corenthin (Felix) Chassouant says “The Greenpush is a real advantage, more particularly under tropical climate with extreme temperature and humidity”.

Higher heights
Then there's the possible higher heights under the gutter and under peak. "These are bigger as well: with a 16 meter width we can go to a 5 meter distance between posts, and a 7 meter height below the gutter. Thanks to the up-scaling it is possible to grow with new cultivation methods as suspended, vertical and multistage crops."

The GreenPush was awarded an award in January on the Sival exhibition already, with a Sival D'Argent. Since then the attention has been growing, with a remarkable enthusiasm from companies working in pretty harsh circumstances as the tropics, but also with severe winters or strong winds. "It's the strength of the construction, making the greenhouse interesting for growers working in difficult conditions. They're not alone though: even when the climate is not that extreme, bettering the climate control within the greenhouse is an important topic too and with the GreenPush design we can help growers achieve this. With the GreenPush we can offer an increased productivity for the same investment. And that's what it's all about."
