Heavy rain and following flood caused significant damage to greenhouses in the town of Elmali, Antalya. The first estimates indicate around 4.5 million square feet of greenhouses being damaged and the products being destroyed within these greenhouses. The financial hit is figured to be around 2.5 million USD for the district. The mayor of the town announced that they will do everything in their power to make sure that the growers can recoup their losses.
The growers are extremely disappointed with this incident, as the prices in the market were very good these days and they were earning good money for their products, and now they will be missing out on a very profitable market due to loss of their products.
