Based on assessment and checks executed by ECAS, the company complies with the requirements as determined in the Product Certification Scheme of the RHP quality mark. With the certification of Nestaan there are now 72 certified companies all over the world connected to RHP, two of which have vermiculite for horticulture in their product line.
Nestaan started at the end of the sixties in Rijsoord, The Netherlands, with the production of thermal insulation. In 1995 the English company Thermica Ltd. was taken over, where vermiculite has been exfoliated since 1983. In 2007 the entire mineral division moved to a completely new production plant in the Belgian Blandain, near Tournai. There, the company produces the RHP certified vermiculite for horticultural use.
